Oh Penélope, you were right!

"Chronic dissatisfaction... That's what you have!... Chronic dissatisfaction. Big sickness... Big sickness!"

This line from "Vicky Christina Barcelona" said by Penélope Cruz's character has been going around my head ever since I heard it. A very good friend of mine told me that I was so much like Christina. So I watched the film and I realized that she was kinda right about the comparison.

I am probably quite alike that character. You wanna know how it feels?

Well, you never finish doing anything, your life is full of open circles, your talents are there... right there I mean, everyone can see them... Everyone but you.

Whenever you find something new and interesting, you just go for it, and you don't stop until you get it. But once you've gotten it, it starts showing flaws. Sometimes this flaws can be seen before you get that new thing, job, knowledge, person, etc. But still, if there's something you find irresistible about the idea of getting it, though the whole package might seem flawed, you just go and lie to yourself and get it. Then good assets and flaws get on a scale, and no matter what you do, flaws tend to be heavier (of course, that's something in your head, and not something out of it, meaning: it's your fault, not the object's).

Results: Again, you almost never finish what you've started. You can hurt people, easily.

In my case hurting people has been a fact. But then, they've blossomed beautifully, that's a bit strange, but it has been true many times.

At first you're perceived as quite an empathetic person.
After a while you're perceived as a giving, tolerant, clever, sometimes spiritual and quite a caring person.
When things start to go wrong, you are then perceived as the most selfish s_o_n o_f a b____ in the world.
And when things cool down a bit, then people think of you as immature, childish or simply charming and adorable but quite unreliable.

So beware of Christinas around the world.

  2. As they say: "Been there, done that." It get's better with time, though. Just hang in there. You'll probably never reach "chronic satisfaction", but you learn to take it easy (or "easier").

Vientos, primo, me gusta tu blog. Un abrazo, Gabo
